Dr. Jeremiah Westover--a brilliant professor and researcher with a penchant for conspiracy theories--was supposed to be on a plane headed for D.C. to share a research breakthrough with government officials. He can't remember falling asleep, but he wakes up in a strange cafe with a laser sight targeting his heart and a hacker typing to him on his laptop.

They want the code he's uncovered, but the consequences of cooperation could devastate the world as we know it. The consequences of refusing are equally grim. With twenty seven people pinned inside the cafe by a sniper, Jeremiah is forced to play Their "game."

They have the gun. They have the plan. And They have Jeremiah's wife. Deciding that relinquishing the code is not an option, Jeremiah settles in to play Their "game" while plotting to save his wife, protect the code, and save himself before time runs out.
